The 81st Annual American Gold Star Mothers, Inc. National Convention was held at the
Hilton Long Beach, CA June 21-25, 2018
The American Gold Star Mothers 2018 Convention started with Registration, some Workshops, then a Welcome Luau that evening.

Then the Gold Star Dads, family members and guest were off to tour the Long Beach Port and then off to the USS Iowa BB-61.
It was a special and emotional tour of this Battleship where there is a memorial to the 47 Naval personal who died in a tragic accident. On board with us was Gold Star Mother Ann Davis whose son Nathaniel Clifford Jones, Jr. Seaman Apprentice died during the explosion.
Two 16-inch gun turrets of the United States Navy Battleship USS Iowa BB-61 explosed
on 19 April 1989, killing forty seven Naval personal including Nathaniel Clifford Jones, Jr. Seaman Apprentice whose Gold Star Mother Ann Davis made her first visit to her sons memorial.
That night we all went out to dinner at 4th & Olive, a Veteran owned restaurant.
It was an outstanding Ten course meal plus desert!
On Saturday, June 23, 2018 the Dads and guest went to visit the Nixon library, then onto Joe Jost bar, then for dinner we all went on board the Queen Mary
