On Thursday, August 29, 2019 the unclaimed remains of fourteen Veterans were finally laid to rest at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Identified as part of the unclaimed project.
This day was made possible through the efforts of the Bucks County Courier Times, investigative reporters Jo Ciavaglia, James McGinnis and Justine Newman of the Chester County Coroner’s Office.

Unclaimed remains of veterans buried at Washington Crossing National Cemetery
Identified as part of the unclaimed project, veterans Jack Foust, Eugene Gorski, Leo Murphy and John McClintock were finally laid to rest after many years in storage at the Bucks County Coroner's Office.
The ceremony Thursday honoring 14 veterans, brought together people from all over the region striving to ensure those who served don’t remain unclaimed. From motorcycle biker groups Warriors’ Watch and Patriot Guard to members of the Disabled American Veterans to a local member of Congress, about 100 people helped mark their service, even if they had never met the deceased.
Many attendees said they come to bury the vets out of a sense of obligation, a small token of thanks for people who gave so much to their country and in many cases died alone.
A Rifle salute and TAPS were preformed.

The folded flag of Our Country was presented to Justine Newman. "This flag is presented on behalf of a grateful nation and the United States Army as a token of appreciation for your loved one's honorable and faithful service."
Justine Newman, a former intern at the Chester County Coroner’s office, identified Nine of the bodies interred and coordinated with 6B Network and other groups to raise local interest in the ceremony.
