The Blessing of the Bikes is an annual tradition in which riders of motorcycles are blessed by a priest in the hope that it will bring safety for the coming season.

Washington National Cathedral is a house of prayer for all people. It is a national treasure and a place of beauty meant to inspire. The cathedral hosts gatherings of national importance such as the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Service and state funerals. Construction began in 1907 and was completed in 1990.

There only son Michael was killed in a UH-1N Huey helicopter crash in southern Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA)-169, Marine Aircraft Group-39, Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton, California. Died on March 30, 2003.
