This years Gold Star Mothers Weekend started off with a Saturday morning visit to Arlington National Cemetery Section 60. This is home to where many of the Iraq / Afgan heroes now rest in peace.
The next Saturday visit was to a wreath laying ceremony at the apex of 'The Wall' then on to visit the Vietnam Women's Memorial 'Nurses Statue', then a visit to the Three Soldiers statue and a picture of the Moms at the “In Memory” plaque.

The USS Cole bombing was a suicide attack against the United States Navy guided-missile destroyer USS Cole (DDG-67) on 12 October 2000, while it was harbored and being refueled in the Yemeni port of Aden. 17 American sailors were killed, and 39 were injured
